Emily Tirrell

Graduate Student Representative

Emily Tirrell is a second year graduate student working towards her Ph.D. in Translational Biology, Medicine, and Health. A double hokie, Emily graduated from Virginia Tech with degrees in Biological Science and in Clinical Neuroscience. She has been an active participant in university governance since 2022 including multiple leadership roles within the Graduate School. Outside of university governance, Emily serves as the Graduate Residential Fellow for the Honors Residential Commons, a Graduate School Tour Guide, and a panelist to the Graduate Honor System. Emily plans to focus on graduate and professional student financial wellness and overall engagement and wellbeing.
